During Summer Camp At Camp Emerson Near Idyllwild, CA

Every summer Aca Chapter members visit Camp Emerson on the Bosecker Scout Reservation to both help out and perform the weekly Order of the Arrow Campfire. We have been working with the OA members of the summer camp staff to perform the campfires every summer since 2003.

During the summer of 2017, a team of our members will again be visiting Camp Emerson on Wednesdays in July to help out with the OA campfire program.

We are looking for youth to be a part o this summer's campfire program. If you have an interest in the Native American singing and dancing part of the Order of the Arrow program, then here's a great way to learn. By being a part of the program you will have an opportunity to learn pow wow drumming and singing, grass dancing, or men's northern traditional style dancing. Instructional classes are typically held for volunteers on Wednesday afternoons at 4PM. Dinner at camp is at 5:30PM (cost is $5 per person for dinner), and then after dinner we begin preparing for the campfire that starts at 8PM.

If you would like to help out, but don't necessarily wish to perform in the campfire, there is always a need for individuals to help seat our audience or help set up / and break down the campfire area.

If you would like to volunteer help out then please email acachapter@gmail.com or call 760-537-0394.
